Welcoming Columbia’s Newest Faculty
Columbia’s 2026 New Faculty Meet and Greet brought new faculty from across the University together at Faculty House in late September for an evening of conversation and connection with colleagues and University leaders.
Columbia Faculty Recognized with Ivy+ Praxis Leadership Fellowship and Ivy+ FAN Provost Leadership Fellowship
Julie Stone Peters has been selected for a three-year Ivy+ Praxis Leadership Fellowship, and five additional Columbia faculty members have been selected for the Ivy+ FAN Provost Leadership Fellowship. Together, these opportunities recognize Columbia faculty engagement in scholarship, academic leadership, and collaborative approaches to strengthening the University community.
Event Recap: EGE AI in Higher Education
Rene Kizilcec shared research on how students use and misuse generative AI, highlighting equity concerns in both coursework and admissions. He recommended clearer AI norms and redesigned assessments that preserve authentic learning.
