Provost Leadership Fellows

The Office of the Provost is committed to supporting career development and skill-building opportunities for faculty as a pathway to enhancing academic governance and leadership at Columbia and to promote and nurture a climate of inclusive excellence.  The Provost Leadership Fellows Program was established in 2013 to further these priorities.  The program aims to develop leadership skills for some of Columbia’s outstanding mid-career and senior faculty.  Fellows have opportunities to develop greater insight into key campus strategic initiatives and academic processes, strategic planning, budget issues, and challenges in higher education.  They also take part in professional development sessions designed to enhance their networking and relationship-building skills and personal communication styles as they prepare for heightened leadership roles.  Over the course of the program, participants strengthen their peer networks across campus.  Fellows are appointed for two-year terms.  Meetings are held three to four times a semester.  The list of current and prior Fellows appears below.
