Roland Wyn Jones
Roland Wyn Jones serves as the Executive Director of Communications in the Office of the Provost at Columbia University.
In this role, he leads the University’s communications strategy across academic initiatives, research, and institutional priorities, ensuring that Columbia’s thought leadership and scholarship reach broad and diverse audiences. He works closely with University leadership, faculty, and partners to develop content and messaging that highlight Columbia’s impact and global reach.
Previously, Roland was Senior Director of Communications Content at Columbia Business School, where he oversaw all content creation and social media activities. His team was responsible for sharing the School’s pioneering research and insights with business leaders and organizations through articles, video, podcasts, and digital platforms.
Before joining Columbia, Roland led digital marketing programs for clients including Bank of America, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Symantec, and Edward Jones. Earlier in his career, he held senior editorial roles at Time and Fortune magazines, and at NBC News.
Roland holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from NYU Stern and an M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He is also a Columbia University Knight-Bagehot Fellow.
