Adam S. Brown

Adam joined the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Innovation as Program Director of the Science of LEarning Research (SOLER) Initiative in January 2020.

In his role, Adam develops infrastructure for and facilitates discipline-based education research projects conducted in departments across the University. Working closely with faculty and colleagues in VPTLI, CUIT, and the Institutional Review Board, Adam operates at the intersection of academics, research, data science, and administration.  

He obtained a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from the University of Chicago in 2017, where he also served as a Graduate Fellow at the Chicago Center for Teaching. Adam then came to Columbia as a Postdoctoral Science Fellow, serving as a seminar instructor and curriculum developer for the College's Core science course, Frontiers of Science.
