Do you want to deepen your inclusive teaching practice by engaging in reflective activities and discussion with other Columbia faculty? This learning community is designed for Columbia faculty members interested in taking the CTL’s self-paced, 15-hour online course, Inclusive Teaching: Support All Students in the College Classroom, alongside a group of peers. There will be two in-person meetings during the fall 2019 semester to help participants identify strategies and talk through particular challenges related to reaching all students in the classroom space.
The first in-person meeting (on September 27) will serve as an introduction to the course as well as a space for faculty members to engage with other Columbia faculty participating in the learning community and share what they hope to learn to refine their inclusive teaching practices. During the semester, we will hold online office hours and check in periodically to answer questions, pose discussion prompts, and help faculty members track their progress. The second in-person meeting (on November 1) will provide an opportunity for faculty to reflect on what they learned by taking the online course and how they will continue on their journey towards inclusive teaching.
Refreshments will be provided, and each participant will receive a copy of the CTL’s Guide for Inclusive Teaching and verified access to the online course.
