About the Event

Faculty from across the University came together for By Faculty For Faculty: A Space to Breathe and Connect, a conversation-centered gathering designed to create space for open dialogue among colleagues. The event invited faculty to share what has been on their minds, ranging from current challenges in teaching and research to broader reflections on academic life and collaboration.

The discussion fostered thoughtful exchange across schools and disciplines, highlighting both shared experiences and diverse perspectives within the Columbia faculty community. What emerged was a sense of genuine connection across schools, disciplines, and roles, as well as a reminder of how much faculty share in common, even though their day-to-day work may not overlap.

We hope this gathering marks the beginning of a continuing series where faculty can regularly come together to build connections, share insights, and support one another as a community.

The event was co-hosted by the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement (OVPFA) and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
