Ruth Garibaldi

Ruth Garibaldi joined the Office of the Provost in October 2024 as Associate Director for Academic Appointments in Faculty Affairs. Ruth is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive process of faculty appointments, leaves, promotions, reappointments, and tenure across the University's schools and academic units.

Before joining the Office of the Provost, Ruth was a human resources & faculty affairs generalist at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Ruth managed full-cycle faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions, facilitated faculty recruitment and onboarding, and ensured compliance with various institutional processes and visa requirements. Prior to this role, Ruth held positions as an administrative supervisor and coordinator in the Columbia University Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where she oversaw administrative functions and faculty appointments while also supporting the department's committee on appointments and promotions.

Ruth earned a Master of Health Administration degree from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in May 2023 with a concentration in Health Policy and Management. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology cum laude from The City College of New York.
