President’s Global Innovation Fund Call for Proposals

December 13, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a request for proposals for the President’s Global Innovation Fund (PGIF).

This fund fosters projects and research collaborations that leverage one or more of Columbia’s Global Centers, a network of regional hubs across the world designed to enhance the quality of research and learning at Columbia.

For this round of proposals, we encourage a focus on interdisciplinary initiatives that address one or more of the following thematic areas: Climate and Sustainability, Health and Medicine, and Social Justice and Equity. Projects should demonstrate cooperative partnerships with international stakeholders and also provide students the opportunity to engage with faculty in research, education, or training.

Since 2013, 109 proposals, representing faculty at nearly every Columbia School, have been funded. You can read more online about projects previously supported by PGIF as well as the Global Centers’ interests, priorities, and resources offered to scholars.

For further details about the opportunity and requirements, please review the PGIF Request for Proposals

The deadline for submissions is February 1, 2022.

Proposals will be reviewed by faculty from a range of schools and disciplines. These reviewers will submit results of their review to the Provost, who will then make a final recommendation to the President.

Projects funded have made a significant global impact, addressing themes of critical importance to the University and the greater world. We look forward to your submissions and the exciting initiatives you propose.

Sincerely,

Lee C. Bollinger
President
