In this interactive webinar, faculty will be introduced to a new NCFDD tool that aims to help academic leaders identify their specific mentoring needs and get those needs fulfilled. In addition, NCFDD will share some practical approaches and tips on how academic leaders can expand their network of mentors and sponsors.

Dr. Tasha Souza is a professor of communication and Faculty Recruitment and Retention Coordinator at Sacramento State University. She previously served as Vice Provost for Faculty Success and has held roles such as Director of BUILD, CTL Director, and Associate Director of Inclusive Excellence. A Fulbright scholar at the University of the West Indies in Barbados, she supports faculty success and consults on communication, inclusion, leadership, and pedagogy. Her publications cover topics like equity, microresistance, and intercultural conflict, and she has led workshops and webinars for numerous organizations.
Dr. Jennifer Sandoval is an Associate Professor at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media at the University of Central Florida and an award-winning educator and equity leader. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Culture and a Master’s in Dispute Resolution. Her research explores identity and power in contexts like healthcare and education. With over 20 years of experience helping organizations communicate across differences, she has held leadership roles at UCF, including Graduate Program Coordinator and Faculty Fellow for Inclusive Excellence. She is an advocate for academic freedom, labor rights, and reproductive justice.
Dr. Lisa Hanasono is a professor in the School of Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and focuses on faculty development, diversity, equity, and inclusion. A former Academic Director of Training and Content for NCFDD and Faculty Success Program Coach, she has led professional development workshops for over a decade. She was a Co-PI on a nearly $1 million NSF ADVANCE grant studying inclusive leadership, allyship, and institutional change in STEM.
