Bio
Nikira Walter is currently a first-year PhD student in Statistics. Her passion for education and social justice are the drivers for her academic and career goals, as she will become a professor in the future. Her research interests lie at the intersection of applied statistics and social equity, with the intent of expanding access to educational and professional opportunities for people of color through policy reform. Nikira is also a magna cum laude graduate of Spelman College with a B.S degree in mathematics. While at Spelman College she served as the president of the honors program, was a National Education Equity Lab teaching fellow, graduated with high distinction honors, and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa.
