April 20, 2021

TO:  Executive Vice President for Arts and Sciences, Deans, Chairs, Directors of Institutes and Centers

CC:  Academic Deans and Departmental Administrators

SUBJECT: Modification of the Parental Workload Relief Plan for Nonprofessorial Faculty on the Morningside Campus

Effective immediately, the terms of the Parental Workload Relief Plan for nonprofessorial faculty on the Morningside campus have been updated.  From its inception the Plan had required that faculty appointed as senior lecturers, senior lecturers in discipline, lecturers, lecturers in discipline, associates, and associates in discipline teach for at least two years in a full-time capacity before they were eligible to take a Parental Workload Relief leave.  Going forward faculty appointed with these full-time titles no longer have a two-year wait period, but may participate immediately in this Plan.

Otherwise the Parental Workload Relief Plan remains unchanged.
