Joshua Crawford, PhD candidate

Department and School
Chemical Engineering, School of Engineering & Applied Science

Bio
Joshua Crawford is interested in the engineering of energy materials with a current focus on electrocatalysis. Joshua hopes to apply fundamental concepts in material science, chemistry, and chemical engineering to guide the design of electrocatalytic surfaces building an understanding of redox behavior that can translate to identifying structure-property-composition relationships. Through synthetic chemistry, materials characterization, and theory, Joshua aims to improve catalyst design and performance. Prior to joining Columbia SEAS, Joshua received his B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Outside of research, Joshua enjoys playing bass, hiking, parks, and soccer.
