Bio
Ellie Mackintosh is a PhD student in Chemical Physics. Specifically, Ellie’s work falls into the categories of theoretical and computational chemistry, which broadly entail approximating and implementing solutions to the Schrödinger equation. Before arriving at Columbia, Ellie earned her B.S. from Davidson College, where she majored in chemistry. She then pivoted to pursue an M.Ed. in Education Policy and Analysis from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she focused on equity, access, and curricular reform in higher chemistry education. The following year, Ellie attended the University of Oxford, where she received an M.Sc. with distinction in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. Ellie is thrilled to continue her scientific and pedagogical work at Columbia and honored to join the Provost Diversity Fellow community.
