Often we are asked to serve our professional and extended communities beyond our "day jobs." Our reaction might be a "quick yes" ...that we later regret. It might be a "no" we deliver in a way that shines a negative light on our personal brand relative to our community buy-in and engagement. Sometimes we feel we are damned if we do and damned if we don't in these situations. When we add in the requirement for our tight focus on and accountability for the spoken (known) and unspoken (unknown) steps to tenure.... we can get tangled and make big errors in judgment that impact our overall effectiveness. In this session we will discuss a process for navigating these situations that will serve to untangle us from saying yes or no too often. We will role play the many gracious, authentic and brand building ways to say no without guilt or brand tarnish. This session will be led by renowned executive coach Patricia Hayling Price.
