Join a conversation with Sharon Salzberg one of the world’s foremost meditation teachers, as she explores the 8 pillars of happiness set out in her book, Real Happiness at Work, and how their practical application can enhance our everyday lives. Designed to fit into your lunch break, each facilitated conversation will include an opening talk, a mindfulness meditation experience, and a closing discussion. Sessions are open to those who are curious about the 8 pillars of happiness, interested in professional development, are new to meditation, or are seasoned practitioners. Pillars of Happiness for Discussion: Resilience, Compassion, and Integrity All are welcome to attend one, two, or all three sessions. Facilitator: Thomas Bottiglieri, DO, Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine (in the Center for Family and Community Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery) at the Columbia University Medical Center and Chief, Sports Medicine Physicians. Presenter: Sharon Salzberg Sharon Salzberg, is a central figure in the field of meditation, a world-renowned teacher and NY Times bestselling author. With her colleagues, Sharon established the Insight Meditation Society (IMS) in Barre, Massachusetts, which now ranks as one of the most prominent and active meditation centers in the Western world. Sharon has written several books on mindfulness and related topics and is a regular columnist and contributor to publications such as On Being and The Huffington Post and hosts her own podcast, The Metta Hour.
