Merrell Norden

Biography

Merrell Norden joined the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation (VPTLI) as the Assistant Director of Online Education in 2019. Merrell supports VPTLI's teams to help promote excellence in teaching and learning, advance a culture of educational innovation, and help the University navigate the changing landscape of online education.

Merrell also supports the Science of LEarning Research (SOLER) Initiative, a cross-disciplinary research hub dedicated to advancing and supporting the scholarship of teaching and learning at Columbia. 

Prior to this role, she worked at Columbia Video Network (CVN), the online learning division of Columbia Engineering, as a Course Designer.  

She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Barnard College.
