Jorinda Silverstein has been the Director of Tompkins Hall Nursery and Childcare Center since 2014. As the educational leader at Tompkins, Jorinda dedicates her time to ensuring that the school is rich with love, learning, and the opportunity for freedom of expression. She is inspired on a daily basis by her ebullient students and devoted teachers.
Jorinda’s career in education began in 1990 in the NYC public school system. She is a certified special education teacher and has teaching and support expertise with children of all ages, from newborns in NICUs to high schoolers with disabilities. Jorinda holds degrees from New York University, Teachers College, and the School of International and Public Affairs here at Columbia University.
