Adina Berrios Brooks

In October 2014, Adina joined the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Diversity and Inclusion as its director. She is responsible for junior faculty funding and programming, data analysis, pipeline programs, and special events for the office.

Prior to this role, Adina worked in admissions and student affairs at Columbia, at both the undergraduate and graduate level for over a decade, most recently at Columbia Engineering as the associate director of Graduate Admissions and Student Affairs for the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department. She also has extensive experience in politics and advocacy, including time at the Children’s Defense Fund New York office and New York’s Working Families Party.

Adina received her B.A. in urban studies from Columbia College and her M.A. in politics and education from Teachers College, where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate in education policy. Her current research involves the school choice decisions of high-achieving Black students and their families.
