Through use of a multimedia narrative project, we aim to expand ICAP New York employees’ existing understanding of systems within our organization of privilege and oppression. This project enabled the development and distribution of an educational tool for individuals internal and external to ICAP about racism and injustice. The objectives are: to create a space for employees to share experiences of racism or injustice they have endured in the workplace, to inform and educate staff on how to approach situations of racism and injustice in the workplace, to create a space for staff to actively listen and create dialogue between staff and teams about the issues of racism and systems of oppression, to challenge participants to apply their knowledge and analyze effective ways to disrupt racism as it manifests in their daily lives and within institutions.

This project was funded through the Addressing Racism: A Call to Action for Higher Education initiative of the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement.
