This grant funded a series of Crawford Bias Reduction trainings with Dr. Dana E. Crawford for Columbia Business School faculty and staff. The CBS DEI Initiative introduced Crawford Bias Reduction Training in two stages. The first stage offered two 3-hour webinars – one for all CBS staff in late October 2020 and one for all CBS faculty in early Spring 2020. These trainings included the general Crawford Bias Reduction Training, featuring experiential exercises and role-playing opportunities customized for Columbia Business School. The second stage of the program offered supplemental 1-hour trainings to the CBS community members focused on tackling issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion for our staff and faculty. We offered Dr. Crawford’s dedicated “Building an Anti-racist Workforce Culture” session to the members of our DEI Standing Committee, as well as to our staff-focused DEI committee, IDEASS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, Social Justice, and Systemic Justice).
