Columbia University Accreditation: Inviting Your Feedback on the Self-Study on Global Education

October 29, 2015

Dear fellow members of the Columbia community:

In 2015-2016, the University is undergoing its ten-year reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).  The Commission's accreditation process, carried out through peer review, is intended to strengthen and sustain the quality and integrity of higher education. It fosters institutional accountability, self-appraisal, and the opportunity to develop strategies for improvement.

As part of this process, Columbia is undertaking a wide-ranging discussion and self-study to explore the topic of the globalization of a Columbia education, affording us a unique and invaluable opportunity to reflect on our mission as a global research university.  We would welcome your feedback and input about the draft of the self-study, which has been shaped by several faculty and student committees.  We invite you to provide your comments by November 10, 2015 via the online feedback form.  Additional public comment periods will take place prior to the reaccreditation site visit by the Middle States review committee in March 2016.

To access the self-study and to learn more about the reaccreditation process, please visit the University Accreditation website.
