Angel Flesher

Angel Flesher has worked in Higher Education Administration over twenty-five years and joined the Office of the Provost in March 2011 as Manager of Tenure Reviews. She was promoted to Director of Academic Affairs in August 2014, and promoted again to Assistant Provost for Faculty Affairs in June 2016.  She is currently responsible for managing the administrative operations of the system of tenure reviews and in ensuring that tenure-track faculty are reviewed for tenure by the statutory deadlines. She works closely with the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs in the formulation and compliance of policies relating to the tenure review of faculty; assists in the resolution of faculty grievances resulting from negative decisions in the tenure review process; and provides the Vice Provost with other support in administering the University's policies relating to tenure reviews.  She also works closely with the academic deans, department chairs, and members of the Tenure Review Advisory Committee in matters relating to tenure.

Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Angel was the Assistant Director of Iranian Studies at Columbia University, Business Operations Manager for Research Operations (the Office for Research and Sponsored Projects Administration, Research Advancement Services, and Process Improvement) at Arizona State University (ASU), Program Manager for the Center for Asian Research, Confucius Institute and Chinese Language Flagship Program at ASU, and Assistant Director of Asian Studies at ASU.

Angel received her bachelor's degree in History from Arizona State University and is currently working on completing a Masters degree in Public Administration at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.
